Alice (Lambrini) Glynos, 94, of Hartford, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at Litchfield Woods, Torrington, CT, with loved ones at her side on Saturday (May 18, 2013). She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Antonios Glynos (2004). Alice was born on May 2, 1919 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, a daughter of the late Christos and Mary (Sarellis) Malides. She lived in Thompsonville during her childhood and graduated from Enfield H.S. in 1936, then became a longtime resident of Hartford. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and dancing. Alice is survived by her children; Irene Dizes and husband Peter of Berlin, CT, Marian Pavlakis and husband Nick of Venice, FL, Joanne Jackson and husband Bradley of Wethersfield, VT, John Glynos and wife Olga of Burlington, CT and Christos Glynos and wife Maria of Bethlehem, CT, her 10 beloved grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister; Marion Skiffington of Newington, CT, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice was predeceased by a sister; Irene Rinaldi and a brother; George Malides. Funeral Services for Alice will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church 23 Church St. in the Thompsonville Section of Enfield. Interment will then follow in the Thompsonville Cemetery. The Glynos family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church P.O. Box 1155 Enfield, CT 06083-1155.
