Ann Potkai, 86, of Enfield, widow of Edward P. Potkai, entered into eternal rest Wednesday September 29, 2010. Ann was born in Chicopee, MA the daughter of the late Charles & Rose (Ryan) Riordan. She graduated from the former Mercy School of Nursing in Springfield, MA and worked as an RN. Ann resided in Enfield for over fifty years and was a member of St. Martha’s Church and the Enfield Women’s Club. She is survived by her children: Edward F Potkai and his wife Jamie of Windsor, daughter Marie Gedney and her husband Walt of Somers, daughter Nancy McGuire of Enfield; three grandchildren: Emily & Alison Gedney and Christopher McGuire, her sisters: Mary Rose Crane of Belchertown, MA, and Margaret McLaughlin of E. Longmeadow, MA. Ann was predeceased by her husband Edward in 2001, also predeceased by her grandson Jeffrey McGuire, her sister Kitty Monahan and two brothers: Edward & Charles Riordan. A funeral procession will gather 9:30am Saturday October 2, 2010 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am St. Martha’s Church. Visitation will be prior to the funeral mass 8:30 to 9:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
