Annie Elva (Devenney) McCoy, 83, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Tuesday (February 19,2013) at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT. Annie was the beloved wife of 57 years to Edward C. McCoy and daughter of the late James and Ellen (McGinley) Devenney. She was born on September 25, 1929 in Lifford, Donegal County, Ireland and had resided in Enfield since 1964. A dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother Annie’s devoted her life to caring for her family and home. Elva was a member of Holy Family Church in Enfield. Besides her loving husband Ed, Elva is survived by two sons; James McCoy of Enfield and Col. Edward D. McCoy, USA, Ret. and his wife Karen of Montclair, VA, her two beloved grandsons; Edward & Patrick and beloved granddaughter; Connor, her two brothers; James Devenney of England and Hugh Devenney of Ireland along with many nieces and nephews. Elva was predeceased by a brother; Daniel Devenney and a sister Angela Brindisi. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial for Elva will be celebrated on Friday (February 22, 2013) at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield. Those that will be attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be at the convenience of her family in Ireland. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
