Annunziata "Nancy" Hoffman Enfield, Connecticut Obituary

Annunziata "Nancy" Hoffman

Annunziata “Nancy” (Daniele) Hoffman, 50, of Enfield, beloved wife of Douglas Hoffman, passed away on July 18th 2011, after an extended illness. Born in Springfield, MA, Nancy had been a longtime resident until moving to Enfield, CT in 2005. Nancy was a graduate of Cathedral High School and attended the University of Vermont, Connecticut College and the University of Massachusetts. Nancy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Botany, a Masters degree in Botany and a Masters degree in Public Health. Nancy was employed by Baystate Health of Springfield, where she worked for many years as a reproductive biologist, and later as an instructor with Baystate-Springfield Educational Partnership. All who knew Nancy were taken by her bright smile, love of life and unending kindness. As a person of deep faith and spirituality, Nancy was a member of Sacred Heart Church and New Day Church in Springfield, MA. Despite being faced with a serious illness, Nancy’s unwavering faith can be seen in her own words, “Lead Lord, and I will follow.” She loved being a Big Sister to her “littles”, and was a member and past president of the International Women’s Club in Springfield. Nancy also enjoyed yoga, ballroom dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Nancy leaves so many friends, and she felt blessed to have them all as a part of her life. Little did she know that it was us who were blessed. She made others better by being a part of their lives. Nancy is survived by her husband, Douglas Hoffman of Enfield; her father, Frank Daniele of Wilbraham; her sister, Cindy Izzo of Hartford; her niece, Ani Izzo of Hartford; two step-daughters, Courtney Hoffman and Kristen Hoffman, both of Enfield; her grandson, Matthew Anderson; three godchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters in-law. Nancy was predeceased by her mother Concetta (Fonzo) Daniele who died in 1979 and her brother Gennaro Daniele who died in 2002. Family and friends will gather on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 9:45 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels for a procession to Sacred Heart Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Windsorville Cemetery. Nancy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082. Memorial donations may be made to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Hampden County, 101 State Street, Suite 601, Springfield, MA 01103.
