Arlene Vaughn

Vaughn, Arlene Ester Corliss: It is with great sadness that the family of Arlene Esther Corliss Vaughn, 91 announce her passing (February 23, 2010) after a long illness. Arlene was the only daughter of the late Burton and Esther Corliss of Calais, VT where she was born on August 1, 1918. She was the wife of Guy L. Vaughn for 38 years until his passing in 1985. Arlene and Guy were long standing members of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Warehouse Point, where Arlene served on many committees, her passion being the soup kitchen. She also loved raising her Pomeranians and Pekinese puppies. Arlene had a special green thumb that she shared with her daughters and daughter-in-law, but most of all she was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. She loved her little people so much. To honor her memory are four children, Ronald Corliss and his wife Gail of Barre, VT, Jane Hartley of New Mexico, Guylene D’Amato and her husband James and Bruce Vaughn and his wife Liza all of Enfield, CT, both of which she made her home. Also cherishing her memory are 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Burt and Esther and husband Guy, she was predeceased by an infant son, a great great grandson, her son in law Ron Hartley and long time companion Normand Holcomb. Her family thanks her caregivers, Karen and Brian Curtis, Lucy Bialoskorski, Caroline Motyka and the staff at Parkway Pavilion for making her last years and months happy and safe. Memorial services will be held at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, Monday March 1 at 4 PM. Arlene’s grandson Fr. Marc Eames will officiate.
