Arminda D'Amato

Arminda (DeJesus) D’Amato, 97, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Rest, on Monday Aug. 8, 2016 with loved ones at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. D’Amato (1997). Arminda was born on Oct. 13, 1918 in Greenfield, MA, daughter of the late Manuel and Alexandria (Mendes) DeJesus. She had resided in Enfield for more than 50 years and was a member of St. Partick Church. Before retiring, Arminda was employed with Choice Vend in Windsor Locks for many years. In her leisure time, she loved being in her garden and enjoyed sewing, but her greatest joy was spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arminda is survived by her two daughters; Rosalie Whiteley and husband Bill and Linda Keenan all of Enfield, her six grandchildren; Bill, Jr., Bonnie , Zachary, Rebecca, Drew, and Kyleen , her four great grandchildren; Hannah, Madison, Emma Rose and Francesca, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters; Mary Pappas, Cecile Caramazza, Alice Stryzko, Irene LaRose, Lucinda Cadette and a brother Fred DeJesus. Arminda’s family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Friday Aug. 12, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, both in Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Felician Adult Day Center, 1333 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082 or the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd S. #4B, Southington, CT 06489.
