Assunta "Sue" DiLorenzo Obituary

Assunta “Sue” DiLorenzo 97 of Austin, Texas, formerly of West Suffield, Connecticut, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Seton Northwest Hospital in the presence of her loving son, Frank Jr. and loving daughter-in-law, Katie. She was born on December 15, 1916 in the Bronx, a borough of New York City, the daughter of the late Emilio and Matilda Soricelli. She married Frank DiLorenzo Sr. and moved to Buffalo, New York where she gave birth to Frank Jr. She lived in Long Island, New York and then resided in West Suffield, Connecticut for 17 years before moving to Austin, Texas in 1998. Sue was a bookkeeper and payroll supervisor for various employers until she retired in 1972. Sue was predeceased by her husband, Frank Sr., and her three younger siblings, John, Alfred, and Ann. Sue is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Frank Jr. and Katie DiLorenzo of Austin, her two grandsons, Patrick DiLorenzo of Irmo, South Carolina and Michael DiLorenzo of Lufkin, Texas, and four great grandchildren, Christopher and Logan of Irmo and Emily and Olivia of Lufkin. Sue is also survived by four step-grandchildren, Bridget Anderson of North Charleston, South Carolina, Heather Timmerman of Potsdam, New York, Michael Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kevin Anderson of Plano, Texas, and five step- great grandchildren, Jake of Atlanta, Justin of Irmo, and Brian, David and Eric of Potsdam. Funeral services for Sue will begin with a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 16. On May 23, there will be a gathering of family and friends at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield, CT, beginning at 10:00 AM. Memorial donations in Sue’s behalf may be made to Sue’s favorite charity: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
