Barbara Middleton

Barbara A. (Cihkey) Middleton, of Suffield, entered into eternal life at the age of 78 on Monday November 25, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. Barbara was the beloved wife of James Middleton whose heart was broken when he preceded her in death 11 months ago (Dec. 31, 2012). Barbara was born on June 15, 1935 in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie (Dichenska) Cihkey. She had resided in Suffield for the past 4 years and in Highland Beach, FL, also in Enfield before moving to Suffield. Prior to retiring Barbara was employed by New England Bank & Trust and then owned and operated a small business with her husband. She enjoyed reading and the beach. Barbara is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Arlene Masera & husband Raymond of Windsor Locks and Tracy Weatherwax & husband Harry of Enfield, her two cherished grandchildren; Chad & Tori Weatherwax, and sisters-in-law; Rita Cihkey, Sally Anderson and Faith Middleton, a niece and a nephew. She was also predeceased by a brother Stanley Cihkey. Per Barbara’s request there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church 42 Spring St. Windsor Locks, please meet right at church. Entombment will follow in Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Harry & Helen Gray Cancer Center 100 Retreat Ave. Hartford, CT 06106. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
