Vivian Brunell, 102, born in Lynn, Massachusetts on December 15, 1907, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2010. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian; and her husband, Edmond; parents, Alfred and Amanda Brunell. She is survived by her son, Bruce E. Bourgeois and daughter-in-law, Page Hobson Bourgeois, of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Beverly A. Bourgeois of Athens, Ga.; granddaughters, Natasha Zaresky of St. Augustine, Fla., Krista Walker of Cochran, Ga.; grandsons, Arden Bourgeois and his fiancee, Ann Wickham and children, and Collin Edmond and his wife, Margaryta Bourgeois, all of Richmond, Va.; five great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons and two great-great-grandsons. Mrs. Bourgeois was a graduate of Bay Path Institute in Springfield, Mass., after which she taught for 12 years at Brattleboro Business College in Brattleboro, Vt., Merchants Bankers Business College in New York City, and Springfield High School in Springfield, Vt. She also taught at the First School of The Somers Connecticut School System. In 1947, Mrs. Bourgeois established the Charter Regent of Court All Saints, Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She served as president and secretary of Elks Auxiliary in Richmond, Va. A Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Church on Saturday January 23rd at 10am in Somersville, Conn., followed by interment at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Hazardville, Conn.
