Betty J. (Finley) Hendrickson, of Enfield entered peacefully into Eternal Life, at the age of 79, on Wednesday (April 25, 2012) surrounded by her family at Kimberly Hall Health Care, Windsor. She was the beloved wife of 48 years to the late Robert W. Hendrickson and daughter of the late John and Rose (Podzaline) Finley. Betty was born on May 11, 1932 in New London, CT and resided in Enfield for 50 years. Prior to retiring in 1991 she was a sales associate in the Cosmetics Department at Forbes & Wallace and then Steiger’s for many years. Betty was a member of the Enfield Senior Citizen Center, the Golden Agers Club and parishioner of St. Martha’s Church, Enfield. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, reading, dancing, attending concerts and was always helping out others in need. Betty is survived by her two sons; Robert M. Hendrickson and his wife Lillie of Springfield, MA and Steven C. Hendrickson of Enfield, her beloved grandson; Steven Charette and two step-granddaughters; Lucy Gerena Jones & husband Robbin, Sr. and Carolyn Gerena Pica, eight step great-grandchildren; Robbie, Eriq, Kevin and Steven Jones, Cedrian, Julian and Maya Pica and Olivia Jubrey, she will also be missed by several surviving cousins and close friends. Her family would like to thank the staff at Kimberly Hall and Masonicare Partners Hospice Program for the exceptional and compassionate care given to Betty. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Monday (April 30, 2012) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. The funeral procession will form at 9 a.m. on Tuesday (May 1, 2012) at the funeral home to St. Martha’s Church, Enfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of her family in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Enfield, CT. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Martha’s Church & School 214 Brainard Rd.
