Beverly “Bev” M. (Burgess) Phelps, 68, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Tuesday Nov. 7, 2017 with her loving family at her side, at The Connecticut Hospice Branford, CT. She was the beloved wife of 43 years to the late Lee C. Phelps. Born on May 24, 1949 to the late Raymond and Genevieve (Hogan) Burgess. She had resided in Enfield for the past 43 years and in Somersville, CT before that. Bev was a graduate of Somers H. S. Somers, CT. Prior to retiring Bev was employed with Hallmark Cards, Inc Enfield for many years and in banking prior to that. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and former member of the Catholic Daughters Court All Saints 1435. In her leisure time she enjoyed Shopping, Nascar racing, attending the Enfield Senior Center, vacationing in Myrtle Beach with loved ones and spending time with the grandkids. Beverly is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Evans & husband Stephen of Shelton, CT. her two cherished grandchildren Stephen & Layla Evans, her brother, Thomas Burgess & wife Barbara of Somers, nephew Raymond Burgess & wife Joella, nieces Sloane Stetson and Tara Wohlers & husband Jay and their families, several cousins and friends. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Nov. 9, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Funeral Services will be held Friday with the procession forming at 11:30 am from the funeral home to All Saints Church Somersville for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:30 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Somers Center Cemetery Somers, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Enfield Senior Citizens Center, 299 Elm St. Enfield, CT 06082.
