Carol Bentley

Carol Jean (Bartlett) Bentley, of Broad Brook, entered peacefully into eternal rest in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side, at the age of 66 on Monday (February 25, 2013). Carol was the beloved wife of 45 years to Robert Bentley and daughter of the late Harold J. and Lillian F. (Church) Bartlett. She was born on November 21, 1946 in Portsmouth, NH. Carol was a graduate of Rockville High School Class of 1965 and continued her education, having received her Associates Degree from Manchester Community College. She had resided in Broad Brook for the past 26 years also lived in Enfield and was raised in Rockville/Vernon. Prior to retiring in 2001 Carol was employed with Quest Diagnostics as a lab technician/phlebotomist for 35 years. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing and gardening, she had an interest in model cars, loved cats and crazy hats, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her beloved grandson who was her pride and joy. Besides her husband Robert, Carol is survived by her two children; Duane E. Bentley of Broad Brook and Melissa F. Bentley and companion Robert Fahey of Enfield, her grandson Robert L. Fahey. She is also survived by her sister; Bonnie R. Hann and husband Leslie C., Jr. of Enfield and her brother; David J. Bartlett of Manchester, along with 10 nieces and nephews. Carol was also predeceased by a brother; Richard W. Bartlett. Relatives and friends may gather with Carol’s family on Thursday (Feb. 28, 2013) from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David B. Williams officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Interment will be in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the ALS Association CT Chapter, 4 Oxford Rd., Unit D4, Milford, CT 06460.
