Caroline (Palasz) Madej, 93, of Enfield, entered in to eternal life on Thursday March 16, 2017 in Greenlawn, L.I., NY. She was the beloved wife of the late Alphonse “Al” J. Madej. Caroline was born on July 9, 1923 in Scranton, PA to the late Frank and Teofila (Zebrowski) Palasz and resided in Enfield for over 60 years and recently in Long Island, NY. Prior to her retirement in 1989, she was employed with Hallmark Cards, Inc. for over 25 years. Caroline was a member of St. Adalbert Church and Hallmark Cards Retiree’s Club. Caroline is survived by her three children; Thomas Madej and his wife, Linda of South Carolina, David Madej and his wife, Patty of Cromwell, CT and Mary Elizabeth Gianni and her husband Richard of Greenlawn, L.I., NY, whom she recently resided with, her five beloved grandchildren: Lindsay, Justin, Jeffrey, Melissa and Kyle, two sisters-in-law Matilda “Mattie” Dojka and Claire Madej. along with many nieces, nephews, their families and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Wanda Sagan and a brother Walter Palasz. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Thursday March 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 am at the funeral home to St. Adalbert Church, Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am.
