Cecile Kearney Enfield, Connecticut Obituary

Cecile Kearney

Cecile Marie (Sansone) Kearney, 70, of Enfield, CT passed away with her daughters and Ruby by her side in her home on December 21, 2013. Cecile taught her daughters not only how to live, but how to die gracefully with courage, and by cherishing every moment God has provided in this life. Watching her strength during these past years has made her daughters better wives, mothers, and sisters. She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Seymour, Suzanne Wogelius and Jennifer St. George. Her sons in law, Luke Seymour, David Wogelius, and William St. George, were always the life of the party and always gave Cecile a chuckle. With Presidente Margaritas, outdoor grilling, special meals and projects around the house and garden, they provided Cecile with their love and special gifts all of the time, but most especially after Popsie passed away. Cecile was adored by her five grandchildren who spent time vacationing with her at the family cabin on Mooosehead Lake, where they ate her blueberry pie and swam to the Big Rock. Vacations to Cape Cod and Disney with Grandma will never be forgotten along with all of the cherished moments she spent making each grandchild feel special. Benjamin Seymour, 15, Emily Wogelius, 14, Kyle Wogelius, 11, Aiden St. George 8, and Connor St. George, 5 will always have memories of their Grandmother in their hearts. Cecile and her sister Celeste Baer and brother in law, Ronald Baer, of Enfield, CT, enjoyed a special relationship raising their families with rich traditions of Italian food, holidays, Christmas Eve and many other celebrations. Celeste and Ron provided support and love to Cecile that was cherished time together, especially after the passing of Bill. Cecile is survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. As “Moon River” plays on, so will the love of Cecile and Bill Kearney as they are now reunited together. With Sparklies on the lake, Chicken Catch simmering on the stove and a Tappy for both, the love they gave to friends and family will be cherished forever. Cecile will be greatly missed as a source of love, friendship and strength to family and friends. Please join family with a celebration of Cecile’s life at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT, on Thursday (December 26th) from 4:00 – 7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Chuch on December 27th at 10:00 (Please meet at church). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Francis Cancer Center (Saintfrancisdonor.com) for their care and support. The family would also like to thank all the special people at Masonicare who took care of Cecile during her hospice needs at home.
