Cecilia Bender

Cecilia P. Bender, 70, of Enfield, passed in to eternal life on Tuesday Feb. 28, 2017 at Johnson Memorial Medical Ctr., Stafford Springs. She was the beloved wife of 49 years to Robert A. Bender. Cecilia was born on Nov. 8, 1946 in New York, NY to the late Henry and Rosario (Arenas) Fernandez and resided in Enfield for many years. She was a graduate of Mother Butler H.S. Bronx, NY, and attended Charles of the Ritz Hairdressing School and Asnuntuck C.C. Prior to retiring Cecilia was employed with Radiology Associates of Hartford for 15 years. In her leisure-time she enjoyed collecting recipes, crocheting and scrap booking. Besides, her husband Robert, Cecilia is also survived by two daughters; Tracy Mueller & her husband Larry of Pennsylvania and Kimberly Bender of Enfield, her beloved grandchild, Mikayla March-Bender, her two sisters; Sandra O’Hare & husband James of Petaluma, CA and Rosario Petti & husband Enrico of New City, NY, along with many nieces and nephews and their families. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Saturday March 4, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. with Fr. Anthony Bruno officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Cecilia’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
