Charles Crawford

Charles B. Crawford, Sr. of Tolland and formerly of Enfield entered into eternal rest at the age of 94 on Friday (December 20, 2013) at Rockville General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Barbara R. (Cole) Crawford (2010). Charles was born on July 22, 1919 in the Poquonock section of Windsor, CT son of the late William and Helen (Schmidt) Crawford and had resided in Enfield for 50 years and the past 8 years in Tolland, CT. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather his main goal in life was caring for his loving family and he loved time spent with them especially during the holidays and special occasions. Charles is survived by his loving children; Charles B. Jr, & wife Debra of E.Hampton, CT, Barbara Cormier & husband Ray of Sandisfield, MA, Norma Pare & husband James of Enfield, Charlene Tkacz of Agawam, MA, Robert Crawford & wife Sue of S. Glastonbury, CT, Marlene Morassi & husband Frank of W. Springfield, MA, Mary Courchaine of Enfield, Kenneth Crawford & wife Patricia of Enfield, Jean Hanson of Enfield, Joan Plonski & husband John of Enfield, Douglas Crawford & wife Wendy of Tolland, CT, David Crawford & Bill Gauthier of Enfield, Donald Crawford & wife Jean of New Port Richey, FL, his beloved and cherished 24 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents Charles was also predeceased by a grandson Tom Cormier. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Thursday (Dec. 26, 2013) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday (Dec. 27, 2013) at 12:30 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels followed by interment with full military honors in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
