Charles "Chic" W. Rhodes, 77 of Enfield, beloved husband of Rita (Morin) Rhodes, died Friday, March 20, 2009. Born in New York, NY, May 15, 1931 the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Buck) Rhodes, he had resided in Enfield for 75 years. Prior to retiring, Chic was employed with Lego. He also worked for Camerota Trucking Parts. and recently as a Crossing Guard in Enfield. Charles was a communicant of Holy Family Church, a member of Somers Knights of Columbus Council 4303 and a member and past Faithful Navigator of the Rev. Kilcoyne Assembly 4th Degree. Besides his wife Rita, Chic is survived by his children, Charles Rhodes (Angela) of Windsor, Mark Rhodes (Diana) of Chicopee, MA, Tom Rhodes (Lynda) of Enfield, Jay Rhodes (Sharon) of Windsor, Curt Rhodes (Nichole) of Ellington, daughter-in-law Tina Rhodes, of Enfield and his ten grandchildren; Christopher, Meghan, Cory, Mitchell, Andrew, Zachary, Kyle, Kassidy Patrick and Kylie. He also leaves his sisters Rita Butkus (Don) of Durham and Pat Kunz of Meriden along with many nieces and nephews. Chic was predeceased by his son David Rhodes and granddaughter Katie Ann. Calling hours are 4 to 8 pm, Monday, March 23, 2009 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Funeral procession will form 9 am Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the funeral home to Holy Family Church for a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in St. Patrick King St. Cemetery.
