Christian Schmeck

Christian Schmeck, of West Hartford and formerly of Enfield, passed from his earthly life, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 59, on Monday (July 2, 2012) at Hartford Hospital. He was the former husband of 9 years and recent fiancé of Barbara Ballard, having been acquainted for 23 years together. Christian was born on Oct. 13, 1952 in Greenwich, CT the son of the late Robert and Patricia (Maloney) Schmeck, and had resided in West Hartford for the past 6 years and in Enfield before that. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy. Christian was a certified EMT and Fire Fighter Instructor for over 30 years of which the past 10 were with the Hartford Hospital Dept. of EMS Education. His greatest interest revolves around all EMS related activities, especially in training and teaching. He was a member of the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Assoc. (SVAA). Christian also leaves to morn his passing his three beloved children; Michael Schmeck of Farmington, Heather Schmeck of Clearwater, FL and Brian Merciers of East Windsor, his loving granddaughter; Madison Merciers and his beloved sister; Heidi Schmeck of Fairfield.
