Christopher Wheat

Christopher N. Wheat, 55, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013. Born in Hartford, July 4, 1958 he was the son of Evelyn (Gear) and the late Louis B. Wheat, Sr. Christopher was a graduate of Enfield, High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was Director of Engineering and Machining at Job Built Wood Products of Enfield for 18 years and a member of both the Elks Club and Tanguay Magill Post 80 of Enfield. In his leisure time Christopher enjoyed fishing, hunting ice fishing, and woodworking. Besides his mother Evelyn, Christopher is survived by his son, Nathaniel B. Wheat, of Enfield; his former wife, Beverly Fagan; his siblings Louis Wheat and wife Trinh of Tampa, FL, Kim Wheat and wife Rose Mary of Windam, CT and Roberta McCormick of New London, CT along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Thomas McCormick. Christopher and his beautiful smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 9, at 12:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family for calling hours prior to the Memorial Service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Donations in Christopher’s memory may be made to Friends of the Enfield Senior Center, 299 Elm St. Enfield, CT 06082.
