Claire E. (Papineau) Mann, of Longmeadow, MA entered into Eternal Life with her loving family at her side on Friday July 20, 2017. She was the beloved wife of 55 years to M. Thomas Mann. Claire was born on January 27, 1926 in Springfield, MA to the late Alexander and Meda (LaBelle) Papineau. She was a graduate of Classical H.S. Springfield, MA and Civil Service School and resided in the Forest Park Section of Springfield before having resided in Longmeadow for the past 40 years. Claire was formerly employed as an executive secretary with The International Division of John H. Breck, Inc. She was a member of the Women’s Symphony League and Cercle Des Dames Francaises. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, sewing, spending time at the beach on Cape Cod, and was an award-winning cook, having won First Place twice in the Springfield Newspapers cooking competition. In addition to her husband M. Thomas, she is survived by a son Paul T. Mann of Longmeadow & Harwich, MA and a daughter Michele Shea & husband James of Franklin & Dennis Port, MA and her cherished granddaughters Emily and Allison Shea. Claire’s family will receive friends during calling hours on Tuesday July 25, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church Longmeadow, MA on Wednesday July 26, 2017. Committal will follow in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
