Curtis Richards

Curtis H. Richards, 87, of Westfield, MA beloved husband of the late Eileen (Bowen) Richards, died peacefully on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Heritage Hall East in Agawam, MA. Born in Springfield, MA on November 24, 1929, Curtis was the son of the late Paul C. and Gertrude (Hambilton) Richards. He was a longtime resident of Enfield, prior to moving to Westfield, MA. Curtis worked for New England Telephone for thirty years and retired in 1985. Curtis proudly served our country as Sergeant with the United States Army during the Korean War and was the recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He is survived by his son, Curtis P. Richards of Enfield; his daughter, Suzanne L. Cunningham and her husband, Wayne of Westfield, MA; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 27, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082, followed by a procession at 10:30 a.m. to St. Patrick Cemetery where a Committal Service with Military Honors will take place at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
