Cynthia "Cindy" Maggio Obituary

Cynthia "Cindy" M. (Lambert) Maggio of Enfield and a cancer survivor of 15 years, entered into eternal life at the age of 70, after losing her second struggle to cancer on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. Cindy was the beloved wife of 49 years to Charles "Chic" J. Maggio, Jr. She was born on June 29,1943 in Dover, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Ruth Lambert. She had resided in Enfield for the past 49 years and in New Hampshire before that. Cindy was employed as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penny in Windsor Locks and then with Figaro’s Restaurant in Enfield for 30 years before retiring a few years ago. Cindy was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Mount Carmel Women’s Auxiliary, Italian Women’s Club, a scrap-booking club and bowled with Bradley Bowl Women’s League for 24 years. To help support St. Joseph's School, Cindy started a successful weekly Bingo. She was a generous woman, always helping others. Cindy loved tradition (she was famous for her Easter Pie) such as holding family gatherings at her home or at Wells Beach, ME and simply spending time with loved ones. Cindy attended all of her granddaughter’s soccer games and was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball and Red Sox fan. Besides her husband Chic, she is survived by her loving children, Charles J. Maggio III, of W. Hartford, Dayna Lawlor & husband Sean of Enfield and Nicholas R. Maggio of Enfield and her cherished granddaughter Ariana Maggio, who held a very special place in Cindy's heart while still embracing Cameron & Brendan Lawlor. She is also survived by a brother Arthur Lambert & wife Victoria, her sister Janet Pelley, and brother Zane Chase & wife June all from Rochester, NH, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law William Pelley and sister-in-laws Patricia Maggio and Joanne Maggio. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Monday, March 10, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. The funeral procession will form at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Browne's Funeral Home to St. Patrick's Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
