Dennis O'Konis

Dennis John O'Konis, 42, of Enfield, beloved husband of Robin Williams O'Konis and father to their son Matthew W. O'Konis, entered into eternal rest Monday (Feb. 12, 2007) at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Hartford son of: John & Carolyn (Leroux) O'Konis of Stafford. Dennis spent most of his life in Enfield graduating from Fermi High School in 1982 and was employed for Complete Interior Systems of South Windsor. Dennis will always be remembered for his love of cooking, hunting, fishing, and especially coaching and playing baseball with his son Matthew. Dennis will be deeply missed by his loving family and his many friends. He is survived by his wife Robin and his son Matthew of Enfield, parents John & Carolyn O'Konis of Stafford, father-in-law Robert Williams and his companion Anny Kertanis, his stepson Michael J. Scalia & Sarah Caneen and her daughter Julianna, brothers: David O'Konis and his wife Becky of Stafford, Timothy O'Konis and his wife Carol of Stafford, sisters: Barbara J. ElSaid and her husband Hoessien of Enfield, Christine A. Girard and her husband Scott of Stafford, and sister-in-law Julie Critz and her husband Mark of Enfield. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Karen, Katie, Jamie, Lindsay, Nora, Sami, Leila, Kaitlyn, Michelle, Elizabeth, Valerie, Mark, Daniel, and Nicholas and a great nephew Alex. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law Athalie Cyr Williams. Family and friends may call at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd for visitation, Friday (Feb. 16) from 4-8pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 10:00am in St. Bernard's Church with the funeral procession forming 9:00am at the funeral home, followed by a reception at the Knights of Columbus, Route 190, Somers. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
