Diane Gokey

Diane N. (Nolan) Gokey, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 72 on Sunday (March 10, 2013) at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, with her loving family at her side. She was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Frederick F. Gokey. Diane was born on May 16, 1940 in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late John E. and Sadie (Murack) Nolan and resided in Enfield for many years. Prior to retiring in 1992 Diane was employed with Stop & Shop Supermarket in Enfield. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Enfield. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family especially the grandchildren. Diane is survived by her three loving children; Kim M. Bower & her husband Michael of Enfield, Michael J. Gokey & his wife Holly of Feeding Hills, MA and Kelly A. Twiss & her husband Kevin of Enfield, her six grandchildren: Melissa Edwards & her husband Joshua, Katrina Bower, Lindley Bower, Kerry Bower and fiancee Ben Veilleux, Kyle Twiss and Daniel Augur, two great grandchildren: Paige & Brynn Edwards, she was a special aunt to Kathy Roman & her husband Joe and Tom Nolan and John Nolan & his wife Diane. Funeral services for Diane will be held on Friday (March 15, 2013) with the funeral procession forming at 9 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Her family will receive relative and friends on Thursday (March 14, 2013) from 3 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the St. Francis Cancer Center 95 Woodland St. Hartford, CT 06015-9720.
