Dolly Greco

Dolly Ruth (Stroud) Del Greco, 73, beloved wife of Antonio Carmine Del Greco, returned home to God on Wednesday February 18, 2009, after a long illness. Her family was by her side as she peacefully slipped away. Dolly was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, daughter of the late, Grover and Dollie (Mericle) Stroud. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed, above everything else, her family. She had many close friends with whom she had fun working, enjoying outings and pursuing hobbies, her most favorite of which were knitting and crocheting. She spent a great part of the last several years knitting an afghan for each of her ten grandchildren. Dolly leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Antonio; her children; Toni Del Greco, Paul Del Greco & his wife, Marianne, Charlene Del Greco and Steven Del Greco & his wife, Cathy, her ten grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Terasa & her husband, Caleb, Paul & his wife, Heather, Vincent & his wife, Lindsey, Robert, Christopher, Steven, Ryan, Kevin, Rachael and Jonathan and her great grandchildren; Max, Ciera and Tyler. She also leaves her brother; Robert Stroud & his wife, Erin; her good friends at New England Preschool Academy, Inc., where she worked for 14 years, along with many extended family members. The Funeral Service for Dolly will be held on Sunday February 22, 2009 at 5 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Pastor Barry Andrusik will officiate. Her family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1 to 5 p.m. Burial will take place on Monday February 23 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery in Exeter, RI. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the St. Francis/Mount Sinai Cancer Center, Education & Research Fund 114 Woodland St. Hartford, CT 06105.
