Donald Miller
Donald E. Miller, 81, of Enfield, beloved husband of fifty-four years to the late, Theresa A. (Clairmont) Miller, died peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 25, 1930, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Donald was the son of the late John H. and Sena Anna (Arends) Miller. Donald had resided in Enfield since 1958 and was a communicant of St. Martha Church in Enfield. He was a police officer with the Town of Enfield for over twenty years and retired in 1994. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed spending time at the Enfield Senior Center and looked forward to attending his Navy reunions. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Donald is survived by his companion, Lucy Godbout of Enfield, with whom he made his home; his loving daughters, Sharon Robinson and her husband, Buz of Enfield, Judith Martin and her husband, Christopher of Enfield; his nine grandchildren, Melissa Robinson, Robert Robinson, Joshua Martin and his wife, Lynn, Katie Fitzgerald and her husband, Adam, Britney, Miller , Taylor Miller, Samantha Miller, Benjamin Miller and Laurie Miller; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, John Miller and William Miller of Michigan; three sisters, Helen Crisman, Kate Troskey and Ruth Miller of Michigan. He is also survived by Mitchell Miller whom he raised as his own. Donald was predeceased by a daughter, Sena Miller and a sister, Marie Klatt. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 by 9:00 at Browne Funeral Chapels for a procession to St. Martha Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Patrick Cemetery. Donald’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 23, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082.
