Dorcas Bauckman Enfield, Connecticut Obituary

Dorcas Bauckman

Dorcas Jane (Arris) Bauckman, wife of 61 years to Philip S. Bauckman Sr., passed from our mortal sight to be with her creator Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014. Born in Boston, Sept. 17, 1934, to the late Rodney Arris and Marion (Hebb) Arris, she moved to Bridgton, Maine, as a young girl and graduated high school there. Our Mom dedicated her life to her Lord and family and endeavored tirelessly every day to that end. The love and compassion that flowed from her touched the lives of so many. Ever present in the kitchen and gifted with the ability to somehow feed everyone, no soul ever left hungry if "Mom" knew about it. Her artwork and "one-of-a-kind" cakes, pies, and cookies were and are treasured. "Teddy Bears" were a passion and there was always room for one more in the house. In addition to her loving husband and high school sweetheart she leaves her children, Polly Locklear and Philip S. Bauckman Jr. of Enfield; grandchildren, Matthew Bauckman, and his wife, Jolene, Nathan Locklear, Timothy Locklear, and his wife, Mimma, Sarah Jane Locklear; and great-grandchildren, Luke and Travis Bauckman, Gabriel, Sophia Jane, and Francesca Locklear, Christianna Locklear and Lucas Locklear Dos Santos. "Where Christ leads we shall follow." A celebration of her life and burial will be in Bridgton, Maine, at the convenience of the family.
