Dorothy E. (Adams) Cummings, 85, of Enfield, entered into eternal peace, Monday July 10, 2006. She was born in Enfield September 13, 1920 the daughter of the late George Dexter and Henrietta (Aldinger) Adams and had resided in Enfield most of her life. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Philip E. Cummings. A graduate of Enfield High School, she had been employed in the accounting offices of Travelers Insurance Co. for 45 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Travelers Women's Club, AARP and in her leisure time enjoyed doing needlework.
Dorothy is survived by her step daughter Frances Messenger and her husband Kenneth of Enfield and several cousins. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held 10:30 am Wednesday July 12, 2006 from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Suffield, CT. Calling hours will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Wednesday prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church 383 Hazard Ave. Enfield, CT 06082.
