Earl Pelkey

Earl “Bud” W. Pelkey, of Enfield, entered into eternal life at the age of 92 on Tuesday (June 3, 2014) at JMMC, Stafford Springs, CT. Earl was born on Feb. 15, 1922 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield son of the late Earl W. and Mae R. (Phaneuff) Pelkey and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. He attended local schools, he then enlisted into the service and was a US Navy Veteran of WW II serving on PT Boats in the South Pacific. Earl was employed with Bigelow Sanford, Combustion Engineering and Retired from Pratt & Whitney. He was a member of the VFW and the VFW Drum & Bugle Corp. Volunteer Firefighter T-Ville F.D., Elmcrest C.C., Lifetime member St. Patrick Church, and he was an avid golfer and skier. Earl is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother John “Jack” B. Pelkey in 2013. Per Earl’s request there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. in St. Patrick Church, Enfield. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield. In lieu flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to The Suffield House Resident Council, 1 Canal Rd. Suffield, CT 06078.
