Edith Hack

Edith (Kilmer) Hack, 87, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest, after a long courageous battle with cancer with her beloved son at her side, on Tuesday April 28, 2015 at Johnson Memorial Medical Center in Stafford Springs, CT. She was the loving wife of 49 years to the late Russell T. Hack, Sr. Edith was born on July 7, 1927 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Clear) Kilmer. She had resided in Enfield since 1951. She was employed for many years as an operator with the New York Telephone Co. In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needlepoint. Edith was a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) call ID KA1VED and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Enfield. She is survived by her loving son Russell “Rusty” T. Hack, Jr. of Enfield, a very dear niece Kathleen Dufficy of San Antonio, TX, along with several other nieces and nephews, a special cousin Peggy Scannell of Beacon, NY, and several other cousins. Edith was also predeceased by two sisters Helen Parnamham and Irene Dufficy. Friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Saturday May 2, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Michael Dolan officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
