Edward Misiewicz

Edward J. Misiewicz, 85, of Enfield, Connecticut died peacefully on Aug. 21, 2006 after a short illness. Ed was born in Jersey City, NJ on October 24, 1920 to Vincent and Veronica (Burazewska) Misiewicz, moved to Colchester, CT as a boy and graduated from Bacon Academy in the class of 1938. He proudly served in the Seabees of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Ed married his sweetheart Irene (Adams) and moved to Enfield where he raised his family and resided for 50 years. Prior to his retirement in 1984, Ed was employed for 32 years as a machinist with the Package Machinery Company of E. Longmeadow, MA. He raised his beautiful voice in song at St. Bernard's Parish, serving as both usher and choir member. Ed loved fishing, music, Irene's cooking, the Boston Red Sox, and a good joke. A devoted family man, Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years and their five children, Michael Misiewicz and his wife, Mary Lou of Amston, CT; Marilyn Fiore and her husband, Robert of Wurtsboro, NY; Patricia Donelan and her husband, William of Andover, MA; Dr. Thomas Misiewicz of Enfield and Christine Cremona and her husband, Thomas also of Enfield. Ed also leaves six grandchildren, Marcus and Matthew Fiore, Rebecca and Kevin Cremona, and Sarah and Michael Donelan and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Henry and Victor Misiewicz, his sisters, Wanda Sapula and Helen Vasalonus and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Misiewicz.<br>Funeral services in celebration of Edward's life will be held on Thursday Aug. 24, 2006 at 10:00am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Adalbert's Church, Enfield. Interment with military honors will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Edward's family will receive relatives and friends on Wed. Aug. 23, 2006 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Adalbert's Church 90 Alden Ave. Enfield, CT 06082 or to the American Lung Assoc. 45 Ash St. E. Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
