Elaine M. (Buffa) Shimo, 72, of Torrington, entered into eternal rest, on Monday May 18, 2015 at Parkway Pavilion Healthcare in Enfield, CT. She was the beloved wife of Richard Shimo of Torrington, CT. Elaine was born on May 17, 1943 in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Mario E. and Mary (Senese) Buffa and was a lifelong resident of Torrington. Besides her husband, Elaine is also survived by her loving daughter Brenda Terault & husband David of Chicopee, MA, her brother Thomas Buffa & wife Phyllis of Woodbridge, CT, a niece Victoria Dandelet, a nephew Edward Buffa, several cousins and extended family members. She was predeceased by a daughter Marie Maggi and a brother James Buffa. Her family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Thursday May 21, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT followed by a Memorial Service with Fr. John Melnick officiating at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
