Eleanor M. Gunning, of Suffield, entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 94, with her loving family at her side, on Tuesday (March 12, 2013) at Bickford Health Care Ctr., Windsor Locks. Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Gunning and daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Rooney) McNamara. She was born on July 5, 1918 in Hartford, CT and had resided for many years in Windsor Locks and Suffield. Prior to retiring in 1986 Eleanor was employed for several years with Casual Corner in Enfield. She enjoyed playing bingo, setback and Wii bowling, her greatest joy in life however was spending time with her loving family especially her beloved and cherished grand and great-grandchildren. Eleanor is survived by her loving children; Judith Schub of Enfield, Pamela Rinaldi & husband Anthony of Enfield, Edward Gunning & wife Lynn of Windsor Locks and Lorraine Bouchard of Suffield, her 12 grandchildren; Jarritt, Jordan, Bethany Schub, Joseph and Jennie Rinaldi, Alicia & Michael Pitocco, Ryan, Matthew, Shelby, Connor & Mikaela Bouchard, Kelsey & Ari Gunning, her 2 great grandchildren; Kaelina & Anthony Rinaldi. She is also survived by a brother-in-law; Joseph Gagliardi of East Hartford along with many nieces and nephews. Eleanor was also predeceased by her siblings; Dorothy McNamara, Elizabeth Raycraft, John McNamara, Daniel McNamara, Lorraine Gagliardi, a sister-in-law; Estelle McNamara and a brother-in-law; Benjamin Raycraft. Relatives and friends may gather with her family on Thursday (March 14, 2013) during caling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield. Funeral service will be held on Friday (March 15, 2013) with the procession forming at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Adalbert Church for a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
