Eric W. Fisher, of Enfield, passed from his earthly journey at the age of 86 on Thursday (January 12, 2012) at the Suffield House. Eric was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Corkum) Fisher who passed before him in 1998. He was born on Aug. 31, 1925 in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada to John W. and Grace (Weber) Fisher and had resided in the local area for many years and Cape Cod. Eric served his country proudly with the Canadian Navy. Prior to retiring in 1975 he was a self-employed plasterer. He was a great family man, enjoyed building houses, country music, trips to Novie and watching the Red Sox, Bruins Hockey and UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball. He is survived by his loving family, Janice Costello and her husband Frank of Enfield, Cheryl Eling and her husband Michael of Portland, ME and Glenn Fisher and his wife Vanessa of Rocklin, CA, his 7 beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel & Ryan Eling, Kevin Fisher, Melanie Fisher, Heather Dobbert and Nathan Costello and 9 great grandchildren. His family would like to thank the staff at Suffield House and Vitas Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care and support. Relatives and friends may gather with his family at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield on Monday (January 16, 2012) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a Memorial service with Chaplain Patricia Hollis officiating. Interment will be private in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield.
