Ermy Petrone, 77 of Enfield, CT and Florida passed away early Tuesday morning, February 12, 2008 in Barefoot Bay Florida. He was born in Enfield CT on January 4, 1931 the son of the late Vincenzo and Emilia Grimaldi Petrone. He worked for Hallmark Cards for 41 years. Since his retirement in 1994 he has enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, who were most important to him and anyone lucky enough to call their friend knew that he had a big heart. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Ermy is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Joyce (Vaters) Petrone and his 4 children, William Petrone and his wife, Jan of Suffield, Robert Petrone and his wife, Jean of Suffield CT, Nancy Wylot and her husband, Rick of Somers, CT and David Petrone of Suffield CT. Ermy will be also greatly missed by his nine grandchildren, William Jr, Stacy, Robert Jr, Nicole, Jesse, Jamie, Nicholas, Kali and Wes also his three great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Megan and Chase. He also leaves behind 3 sisters, Yolanda Bednaz, Rosetta Contois, and Jean Body, along with many nieces and nephews. Ermy was predeceased by 2 bothers, Carmine Petrone and Ernest Petrone.
A funeral procession will form on Saturday Feb. 16, 2008 at 10am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield to St. Patrick's Church, Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Ermy's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Feb. 15, from 4 to 8pm at Browne Funeral Chapels. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association 2550 US Highway 1 N. Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
