Ernest "Ernie" Dumesnil

Ernest “Ernie” J. Dumesnil, 84, of Enfield entered into eternal rest on Monday May 11, 2015. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Carol (Stroiney) Dumesnil. Ernest was born on June 2, 1930 in Adams, MA, the son of the late Arthur S. and Haude Margaret (Duquette) Dumesnil. He served his country proudly with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Prior to retiring in 1986, Ernie was employed with Hamilton Standard for 30 years. Ernie was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife Carol, he is also survived by his six children; Mary & Marty Powers of Tolland, Arthur & Theresa Dumesnil of Enfield, Cathleen & Thomas Kuzara of Ashford, Michele Dumesnil & Tim Noble of Ellington, Joann & Robert Welch of Ellington and Amy Paige of Pomfret, twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, his two sisters Rolande Trottier of CA, and Theresa Roy of PA, along with many nieces and nephews. The Dumesnil family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Tuesday May 19, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial (Meet directly at church) will be celebrated on Wednesday May 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield. Burial will follow with military honors in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Enfield.
