Frances C. (Caldwell) Gavin, formerly of Enfield, CT and recently of Roslindale, MA entered into eternal life at the age of 80 at Hebrew Rehab. Center, Boston, MA on Tuesday (4/13/10). She was the beloved wife of 54years to the late Bernard Gavin and daughter of the late Christopher and Florence (Mahoney) Caldwell. Frances was a talented artist having won several awards at local shows. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother her life revolved around caring for her family and home. She was an active member of the Enfield Senior Center and St. Martha’s Women’s Guild. Frances is survived by her three daughters; Linda Gavin and wife Priscilla Hoffnung of Boston, MA, Mary Taylor and husband, Ralph of Amherst, MA, Patty Cervino and husband, Joey of Paramus, NJ, her son; James Gavin and wife, Cindy of Canton, CT, her 7 beloved grandchildren and two great granddaughters. She is also survived by a sister; Gloria Connelly of Sudway, MA along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Frances was predeceased by a brother; Christopher Caldwell. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Friday (4/16/10) from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Martha Church, Enfield. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery in Enfield.
