Francis Dubiel

Francis K. Dubiel, 95, of Fairfield, CT and formerly of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Friday (Jan. 9, 2015) at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield, CT. He was the beloved husband of Helen W. (Walizki) Dubiel. Francis was born on September 2, 1919 in Greenfield, MA, the son of the late Stanley and Agnes (Olszowa) Dubiel. He had resided in Enfield for many years before relocating to Fairfield to be closer to family. Francis was a WWII Veteran having served his country proudly with the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed with Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. for 15 years and retired from Brockway Smith, Inc. after 13 years of service. Francis was a member of St. Adalbert Church, Enfield, former member of the Library Board, was a volunteer fireman and a member of the John Maciolek Post 154 American Legion, Enfield. Along with his wife Helen, he is also survived by a son Robert Dubiel & his wife Barbara of Wilton, CT and a daughter Ann Dubiel of Scarsdale, NY. Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2015) morning prior to the Mass from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. in St. Adalbert Church in Enfield followed by military honors. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Francis’s name may be made to St. Adalbert Church 90 Alden Ave. Enfield, CT 06082 or the ambulance fund C/O Enfield EMS, 1296 Enfield Street Enfield, CT 06082.
