Francis “James” Prior, 82, of Enfield, died Monday July 28th, at home with his wife of 54 years Jackie by his side. Born in Hartford Connecticut, he was the son of the late Ann (Collins) and Albert Prior, he lived in Hartford and East Hartford, before moving to Enfield in 1972. A 1948 graduate of Hartford High School, Jim was a natural in carpentry but chose a career in the automotive industry. He spent 44 years as a parts manager for various automotive dealerships, winning several awards for top sales revenues in the region. After retiring in 1994 he spent his days fishing and watching the Red Sox from his hammock at home. Besides his wife Jackie, he is survived by his sons, Ken and wife Michele of Somers, and Tom and wife Pam, of Enfield; nephew Jim and wife Judy Parlee of Manchester; Grandchildren Sean Prior and wife Megan of Somers, Zachary and Dylan Prior of Enfield, and his great granddaughter Chloe Prior of Somers. Jim was predeceased by his sister Marilyn Parlee. Jim’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice for their care throughout his illness. There are no calling hours and a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
