Frank Carzello

Frank G. Carzello, of Enfield entered into eternal life at the age of 80 in the comfort of his home on Tuesday (March 22, 2011). He was the beloved husband of Rita (Dunne) Carzello and son of the late Frank and Mary (DeMayo) Carzello He was born on July 15, 1930 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield and was a life long resident. Frank was educated in Enfield and then went on to UCONN and Western New England College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1972 and Masters Degree in Business Administration in 1975. He served his country honorably with the US Navy during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement in 1992 Frank was employed for 20 years with Milton Bradley where he was an Assistant Controller he also was an instructor for the AARP 55 Alive/Driver Safety Program and taught accounting at AIC in Springfield, MA. He was a Past Master of the Indian Orchard Shawmont Lodge, the Melha Shriners and a director of Embeco Credit Union in East Longmeadow for over 36 years having served as President from 1984 – 1992. Besides his wife Rita of 56 years he is survived by his three brothers John Carzello of Holyoke, MA, Gerald Carzello of Ellington and Joseph and his wife Ann of Westfield, MA, his five sisters Frances Rodenhizer and her husband Neil of W. Springfield, MA, Clara Sanborn of W. Springfield, Hilda Kaminsky and her husband Larry of Enfield, Katherine DeLorge and her husband Dennis of Springfield, MA and Rosemarie Carzello of Enfield, a sister-in-law Joann Carzello of Enfield, a sister-in-law Elizabeth Levendusky and her husband Clifford of Broadalbin, NY and a brother-in-law Thomas Dunne of Nashua, NH, step sister-in-law Phyllis Wood and step brother-in-law Ron Lawton both of Amsterdam, NY along with numerous nieces and nephews, an aunt and uncle, several cousins and many friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Darren S. O’Neil and the Home & Community Health Services, Hospice Program for the support and compassionate care given to Frank. Frank was predeceased by two brothers James and Michael Carzello, two sisters-in-law Dorothy and MaryAnn Carzello, Marian Dunne and a brother-in-law Wayne Sanborn. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday (March 25, 2011) from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday (March 26) with the procession forming at 10:00 am to St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield for a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Enfield EMS 1296 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082 or The Little Sisters of the Poor 1365 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
