Gary Hottin Obituary

Gary G. Hottin, 67, of Enfield, passed into eternal rest on Thursday May 4, 2017. Gary was born on Aug. 11, 1949 in Springfield, MA to Amelia (Lamagna) Hottin of Enfield and the late Harold Hottin and was a life-long resident of Enfield. Gary served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era from 1969-1973. He had a passion for Archeology and volunteered on many dig sites with the State Archeologist and accumulated a large collection of artifacts from his own efforts around the local area. Gary was a member of the Massachusetts 25th Regiment Continental Line and the Enfield Minuteman and participated in many parades, encampments and battle reenactments around New England. He also enjoyed socializing at the Powder Hollow Brewery where he had many friends. Besides his mother, Amelia Gary is also survived by a sister, Cynthia Allery & longtime partner John Thompson of Arlington, MA, a nephew, Lee Allery & wife Stephanie of Enfield, a aunt, Dora Krivickas & husband Al of S. Windsor and several cousins, close neighbors and friends. Services for Gary will be private with burial in the CT State’s Veteran Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
