Genevieve A. (Casida) Budd, 91 of Somers, died peacefully on Wednesday (Oct1, 2008) at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family. Genny was born in Wethersfield, CT May 7, 1917; she was the daughter of the late William D. Casida and Alice (Scovel) Casida. Genny had made her home in Somers since 1985. Prior to living in Somers she lived in Enfield for 23 years. She was retired from Combustion Engineering. Genny is survived by her loving children, Thomas Budd and his wife Jetta of Sitka, Alaska, Deborah Brown and her husband Thomas of Somers, Joel Budd and his wife Susan of Enfield, Greg Budd and his wife Andrea of Somers, Ross Budd and his wife Stephanie of Lyneborough, NH, Kimberley Reis and her husband Tony of E. Longmeadow, MA. She also leaves her 12 grandchildren, Melanie Dubiel, Brindle Summers, Kelly Flanagan, Joel Budd, III, Mathew Brown, Caitlin Cooke, Jonathan, Eric and Emily Budd, Ross and Naresa Budd and Isabel Reis and 7 great grandchildren Carlie, Ryan, John, Azure, Samantha, McKinley and Sadie. She is also survived by Lynne Pitney who was like a daughter to her. Genny was predeceased by her husbands, Walter Wisneski, who was killed in 1945 during WWII in Germany and Joseph Budd who died in 1960. Genny was also predeceased by her 2 grandsons Joel Budd, II and Sean Thomas Brown and brothers Carter and Joseph Casida. Genny cherished her family above all things. Her love and unending support for her family will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Sunday October 5, 2008 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield. Genny's family will receive relatives & friends from 2 to 5 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Home and Community Health Services Hospice P. O. Box 1199 Enfield, CT 06083.
