Geraldine Giguere

Geraldine "Gigi" (Longey) Giguere, of Enfield, CT completed her earthly journey at the age of 74 on Monday November 23, 2009 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs. She was the beloved wife of 48 years to the late Roger E. Giguere, Sr. and daughter of Leona (Menard) Longey Flannery of Hampden, MA and the late Floyd Longey, she was born on November 11, 1935 in Springfield, MA and had resided in Enfield since 1962. Geraldine was a graduate of Agawam High School, Agawam, MA Class of 1953. Prior to retiring in 1998 she was employed for 23 years with the State of Connecticut D.C.F at the Connecticut Children's Place, East Windsor, CT, and before that with Springfield Gas and as a Civilian Secretary for the US Army. In her leisure time she enjoyed knitting, bowling, movies and dining out. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Enfield.
Geraldine was a loving mother to: Linda Zimmer & her husband, William of Enfield, Lisa Dubchy & her husband, John of Enfield, Roger E. Giguere, Jr. of Enfield, Robert Giguere of W. Springfield, MA and David Giguere of Enfield, beloved grandmother to: Bonnie Zimmer, Sydney & Riley Dubchy and Justin & Gavin Giguere. She is also survived by two brothers, Richard Longey and David Longey and a sister, Judy Martin all of MA, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins, also her very dear friend, Mary "Molly" Conley of Enfield.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Friday November 27, 2009 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels to Holy Family Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery Agawam, MA.
