Gloria V. Guillemette, 85, of Enfield, CT, known lovingly as “Grandma” to the students of the former Noah Webster Elementary School, ascended to God’s healing grace on Saturday August 30, 2014. Gloria loved Politics, and was a member of the Enfield Republican Town committee for many years. She was a Justice of the Peace, and served on the Fair Rent Commission from 1979 to 1983. Gloria was also a Commissioner with the Boy Scouts of America from 1980 to 1982. Gloria was the proprietor of Mrs. G Studio, a dressmaker & designer for 30 years, she graduated from National School of Dress Design in 1976. Gloria was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1999. She leaves her children, John Guillemette, Sylvia Guillemette, and Katherine Wight, a son in law, Don Wight, her grandchildren, Amethyst, Ryan, Sean, Samantha, David, Ashley, Benjamin & Seth, as well as three great grandchildren. She also leaves her dearest friends, Carol Van Luik, Marion and Richard Smith, and Melissa Phillips. A Memorial Service will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday September 13, 2014 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Road in Enfield. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery Bow Ln. in Middletown, CT. Gloria’s family will receive relatives and friend from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
