Harold Relihan

Enfield, CT--Harold A. Relihan passed away on February 15, 2013. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rita (McCaughey) Relihan. Harold was born June 3, 1932 in Rutland, Vermont, the son of the late Harold and Octavia Relihan. He graduated from Technical High School, Springfield, MA in 1950, served four years in the US Navy as a pharmacists’ mate, and attended the University of Connecticut and received a Paralegal Degree from Elms College. Harold worked for The American Tobacco Company, Rust-Craft Publishing Company, and retired as an investigator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents. He was, co-chairman of the Massachusetts Organization of Disabled Workers, a member of the East Longmeadow Democratic Town Committee, the American Legion, and Deputy Sheriff of Hampden County. Harold is survived by his loving daughters, Patricia Stec of Ludlow, MA and Christine Sullivan and her husband, Stephen of Shutesbury, MA; three grandchildren, Matthew and Kevin Stec, and Shannon Sullivan; his two sisters, Octavia Anderson of The Villages, FL, and Barbara O’Connell of Enfield, CT; his brother, David Relihan and his wife, Karen of Springfield, MA; several nieces and nephews and his good friend, Rita McCarthy of Watertown, CT. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels followed by a committal service at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA. Harold’s family will receive relatives and friends beginning at noon at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation at 115 Broadway, Suite 1301 New York, NY 10006.
