Helen K. (Kokoszka) Szczygiel, of Suffield, entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 99 on Tuesday (August 21, 2012) in the comfort of her home with her loving son at her side. She was the widow of Stephen S. Szczygiel. Helen was born on March 20, 1913 in Hazelton, PA, the daughter of the late Sebastyan and Victoria (Szukala) Kokoszka and had resided in Suffield for the past 62 years and in Ware, MA before that. A devoted and loving wife and mother her life revolved primarily around caring for her family and home. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and was a member of St. Adalbert Church. Helen is survived by her loving son Stephen W. Szczygiel of Suffield, her beloved sister Jean Duncan of North Haven, CT along with many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by four brothers. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
