Herman Edmond Roy, “Yodeler” 81, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Life on Sunday Nov. 13, 2016. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Muriel P. (Potter) Roy. Herman was born on April 1, 1935 in Van Buren, Maine to the late Edmond and Cecile (Morin) Roy. He had resided in Enfield for the past 46 years and in East Hartford before that. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, Herman was employed for over 42 years with Pratt & Whitney, and a crossing guard with the Town of Enfield for 16 years. He was a parishioner of St. Martha Church, Enfield, the Knights of Columbus Fr. John B. O’Connell Council No. 14600, Enfield, the William B. Kilcoyne General Assembly 4th Degree & Its Color Guard also Past Faithful Navigator and former Past Grand Knight with Washington Irving Council 50, Enfield, chairman of membership/recruitment, head of the screening committee for many years, former District Deputy and served for many years on The Degree Team throughout the State of CT. Herman enjoyed volunteering for the Enfield Senior Citizen Center and yodeling for anyone who would listen. Besides his wife, Muriel, he is survived by a son Matthew Roy & his wife Beth-Anne of Enfield, his cherished grandson Lucas Andrew Roy, he is also survived by his siblings; Alban Roy, Vinal Roy both of Van Buren, ME, Herbert Roy of Newington, CT, and Lorn Roy of Oregon, along with many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Wednesday Nov. 16, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT, Funeral services will take place on Thursday Nov. 17, 2016 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Martha Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will take place in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Martha’s Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield, CT 06082 or the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter 200 Executive Blvd. S# 4B Southington, CT 06489.
