Hilda J. (Roy) Rivard, 67 of Enfield entered into eternal life surrounded by loved ones on Thursday Dec. 21, 2006 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs. Hilda was predeceased by her beloved husband Jean E. Rivard in Dec. of 1985. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada on March 18, 1939 a daughter of Laurent and the late Lina (Bosse) Roy and had resided in Enfield for the past 42 years and in E. Hartford before that. Prior to her retirement in 1998 Hilda was employed for over 25 years with Hallmark Cards Inc., Enfield. She enjoyed doing arts & crafts, but mostly she loved spending time with her family and friends. A devout catholic she was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Holy Family prayer line. Hilda leaves to cherish fond memories her loving family; her father and step-mother, Laurent and Donate Roy of Canada, a son, Jean R. Rivard & his wife, Martha Jane of Manchester, a son, David G. Rivard & his wife, Theresa of Manchester, a daughter, Anne Fisher of Belchertown, MA, a daughter, Doris C. Vignone & her husband, Michael of Windsor Locks, five step-children; Ginnette Pauralt of ME, Fran Drewnowski of Agawam, MA, Mary Rivard of ME, Denise Rivard of Canada & Michelle Daigle of ME, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings; Aldeo Roy & his wife, Collette of Canada, Yvon Roy & his wife, Irene of Newington, Lewis Roy & his wife, Helen of Canada, Jacques Roy of Plantsville, Gilles Roy of Canada and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves her dear & close friends; Kay, Gerry and Cora. Hilda was predeceased by a brother, Guy Roy.
Funeral services in celebration of Hilda's life will be held on Thursday Dec. 28, 2006 at 9:00am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Patrick's Church in the Thompsonville section of Enfield. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Hilda's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday Dec. 27, from 4 to 8pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels.
