Howard Crane, Sr

Howard H. Crane, Sr. of Enfield entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 92 on Tuesday (May 4, 2010) in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late Adela “Doris” (Nasuta) Crane. He was born on September 8, 1917 in Stafford, CT son of the late John and Ethel (Davis) Crane and had resided in Enfield most of his life. Howard was a member of the Army National Guard prior to and after, serving his country honorably with the U.S. Army during WW II. He was employed for over 10 years as a Custodian with the Somers School System and had worked for the Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. in Thompsonville. Howard was a member of the Tanguay Magill Post 80 American Legion, Enfield and St. Adalbert’s Church. He had a love for all types of music and was an avid UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball and Red Sox fan. Howard is survived by his sons; David Crane and his wife Angel of Enfield and Howard H. Crane, Jr. of Hartford, his brother; Ralph Crane of Springfield, MA, two sisters-in-law; Barbara Crane of Somers and Evelyn Crane of Broad Brook, a brother-in-law; Joseph Nasuta along with many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings; Ruth Cooley, Dorothy White, Rhea Tetrault, Donald Crane, Robert Crane, Earl Crane, Harold Crane and Margaret Blackmore. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of his family. Interment will be in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association 45 Ash Street East Hartford, CT 06108-3272. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT has been entrusted with his arrangements.
