Ivan J. Walk, (Retired Enfield Police Officer) passed from his earthly journey at the age of 69, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday (November 7, 2010). He was the beloved husband and best friend to Gale (Walena) Walk and resided in Enfield for 50 years. Ivan was a 21 year heart transplant recipient. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army & Air Force. Ivan retired in 1992 after 20 years with the Enfield Police Department where he very much enjoyed being a police and motorcycle officer. Besides his wife Gale of 25 years, Ivan is also survived by his children; Steven Walk & his wife Christa of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth Kredar of Enfield, Michael Kredar & his companion Michelle of Camarillo, CA, Lynn Singer & her husband Christopher of Ashford, three step children; Sherri, Debbie and Donna and four beloved grandchildren; Nicholas Singer, Adam Kredar, Eric Kredar and Vincent Walk. Ivan’s family would like to thank the staff at Parkway Pavilion for the exceptional and compassionate care given to him. Relatives and friends may gather with Ivan’s family during calling hours on Wednesday (November 10, 2010) from 3 to 7 p.m. and Thursday (November 11, 2010) prior to the service from 10 a.m to 12:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. (noon) from the funeral home with Fr. John Melnick officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Because of the love Ivan had for his dogs and cats the family has requested, in lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the CT Humane Society 701 Russell Rd.
